JACK A CAR, JACK UP YOUR LIFE

A CARJACKING PREVENTION CAMPAIGN CREATED BY TEENS, FOR TEENS.

Be the Solution

Teens
• Join the campaign, spread the word, and sign up for the contest to win cash prizes
• Never get in a car with someone without a license or someone driving an unknown or stolen car

• Tell your friends your expectations when you’re riding with them
• If you are pulled over—STOP. Do not flee. You endanger your life and the lives of others and the penalties for being caught are worse for running
• Don’t drive under the influence
• If you car about your friends who steal cars or ride stollies, tell them to STOP
• Don’t drive reckless

Parents
• Know who your teen's friends are
• Know where they’re going when they walk out the door
• Talk about your expectations when it comes to riding in cars with other teens
• Talk about expectations and what to do if pulled over by police
• Keep keys to vehicles in a safe and secure location

Community
• Get involved! Volunteer with a local nonprofit or youth serving agency
• If you see an abandoned car parked in your alley or on your block—report it ASAP. It may be stolen
• Look out for all the youth in your neighborhood. We all have a responsibility to ensure that our youth and community are safe

• Become a mentor: www.milwaukeementor.com
• Read and support Milwaukee’s Blueprint for Peace: www.414LIFE.com
• Support the Solution by donating to Running Rebels Community Organization which provides court-appointed programing for youth involved in carjackings.
